Since the beginning of the year when Nikon Asia’s Facebook fanpage was launched via DiscoverNikon.com, it has come up with various exciting activities for fans to take part in.

• Back in January, the Discover Nikon portal and Facebook fanpage launch began with a bang with the Hello Nikon! Countdown 2010 greeting contest where the best Hello Nikon wish on the Facebook wall would win a COOLPIX S570. For this, Nikon congratulated Ms. Olivia Ong for her winning new year 2010 greeting:

  As we welcome 2-0-1-0,
  To our future we say hello.
  But every prior weal and woe,
  Remain precious memories to behold.
  Alas, with Nikon we will show,
  How our life stories unfold.
  As upon us Nikon bestows,
  The ability to shoot like a pro.
  So now you very well know,
  Nikon is one with which to grow old.

• Following the recent hype which generated instantly a few thousand new members over one weekend, Nikon Asia then ran the Have Fun, Nikon! Instant Win Quiz Contest where a simple quiz was sent out every alternate day, where fastest correct answer would win a Nikon Thermal Mug.

• Next, a series of 2 exciting Photo contests were then held, based on the two themes, “Hello Nikon!” and “Go with, Nikon!”, with attractive prizes of a D3000 and D5000 respectively!

The first photo contest was held over 22 February to 7 March, where fans were challenged to submit not more than 2 photos each with the most creative concept and caption. For the first theme, “Hello Nikon”, the task was to successfully capture a morning culture/habit/scene in their country, and tag the photo with an interesting slogan. The contest was open to the regions of Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Malaysia.

The 2nd theme titled “Go with, Nikon!”, followed two weeks after the first contest ended. From 8 to 21 March, participants could try a different subject - they had to submit entries depicting “Movement”.

At least 4000 entries were received over the two contests, and its organizers have been encouraged by the great response received from its fans.

Alongside the grand winners, 10 top entries were selected from each of the categories and awarded an exclusive Nikon pen. These photos including a Top 50 compilation of each contest, have been uploaded on Nikon Asia’s Facebook fanpage albums.

With over 15,000 fans since it’s inception in January, more activities are being planned to cater to Nikon’s fans across the Asia region.
